Bio
The Basics

Character Name: Theodore Cassus Nott
PB: Johnny Lewis

Age: 18
Birthday: Oct. 29, 1979
Wand: Ash, 12 & 3/4 inches, slender and flexible.
House in School: Slytherin
Bloodline: Pureblood

Political View: Against DE but really doesn't care for muggles. The death of Dumbledore caused Nott Sr. to remove Theo from Hogwarts -- to have him take the Mark. Faced with what to Theo was a future of wretched slavery and realizing that the death of Dumbledore would probably spur the Ministry into action, Theo left the Nott Manor to join the side of Light. Theo has no love for muggles or the muggle-born (even though realizing intellectually that inbreeding was narrowing the purebloods to nothing), and being strictly pragmatic, brought most of his father's books on Dark Magic to help ease his way in. He's hoping that his clear defection should cause the restrictions placed upon him due to his father's lust for power to wane.
Appearance

Height: 6'2"
Weight: 160
Eyes: Hazel
Hair: blonde-brown-mousy color
Build: often described as "stringy" or "weedy", Theo is tall but skinny and slender.
Dress Style: easy-going

Basic Physical Description: "Straight" seems to be a more accurate description of Theodore. Straight faced: his long face and wide cheekbones show little emotion unless under times of extreme stress (now more often than not). Straight body: with slender, long well-formed limbs, Theodore is almost on the edge of "skinny" but holds himself stiffly enough that "willowy" could not be properly used. Straight-casual way of dressing: Theodore knows how good appearance can be properly utilized, but refuses to invest obscene amounts of money into his clothing like the rich popinjays of his house.

Defining Marks: He has a matching set of straight scars that line his back from various beatings as a child, and a deeper set caused by the cutting curse when he refused to join the Death Eaters, given to him by his Death Eater father. Since Theo spent most of his time in the Hogwarts Library, he contracted very little in the way of curse-caused damages until the final battle, where he had a cutting curse slash across his lower belly. The scar is still red and angry, but will fade.

Personality

Theodore has always been a bit of a loner. He's highly intelligent with a sharp, dry wit. He's never needed to belong to any particular group, and his cavalier attitude to politics has both cost and gained him some friends. Instead he prefers to sit off to one side and watch. Theo can read people almost as well as the pages of his books.

As a Slytherin with Ravenclaw leanings, he's usually found with his nose in a book, but to stand out in Slytherin house without anything substantial to protect you was folly. Theodore scraped by, doing other people's homework and ignoring taunts, basically putting off an uncaring air. He is rather poor at dueling, because he does not have the reactions for it; the same for quidditch and physical sports. In fact, the only subjects he excelled in at school was History of Magic and other theoretical magics -- he got decent marks in Potions only during the theoretical aspect, not the actual application or creation.

Theodore is probably one of the few people who has practically memorized the layout of Hogwarts's library. He retains a marvelous amount of information about magical theory and odd knowledge. Moderate enough at chess, he shows true Slytherin characteristics when he moves cautiously and manipulates the people around him with only words. Words, Theo has found, are true power.

Psychology

Extrovert/Introvert: Introvert
Boggart Would Be: When he was very young, Theodore hid inside a wardobe and saw his father kill his mother for denying the Dark Lord. Blocked from his memory, Theodore has a seemingly senseless fear of wardrobes and enclosed places.

Patronus Would Be: Theodore has always placed his mother on a pedestal due to the few happy memories he has of her at a younger age. His patronus is based on those memories and as such is a very whispy form of a woman.

Sexuality

Straight for really no other reason. Mr. Nott was quite firm that his son would marry and produce children with an appropriate pureblood woman. While he was stuggling out of his father's shadow, Theodore simply hasn't considered rebelling by "experimenting". Once he engaged in oral-genital intercourse with a female Ravenclaw student during his sixth year. It was never persued, and Theodore looks upon it with vauge disinterest. He is likewise flippant in regard to his current virginity; he assumes it will be lost when he marries, and until that point, does not worry too much about it.

Lifestyle

Occupation:Theodore has always had Ravenclaw leanings, and shows a lot of skill in research. He'd like to have a (hopefully non-dangerous) librarian-related job.
Residence:Nott Manor sits in the English countryside, a dark foreboding manor that reekes of the evil magic from its generations of owners. A week after it formally came back into his ownership again, Theodore promptly put it up for sale. He is in between permanent residences right now, in search of something that will suit him better than the home of his ancestors.
Financial Status:The Notts have been fairly well off, so that Theodore doesn't have to worry about getting an actual job for a while. Plus the money from the sale of his home, heavily taxed as it was, is an immense help.
Family

Parents: Anthony Tiberius Nott (DE, deceased) and Leonore Eliza Legiere nee Nott (deceased).
Siblings: none

Anthony Nott, a very tall, lanky man with a bit of a pot belly, started off as a unconcerned parent, much like most purebloods, and left all the upbringing to Lenore, a wispy slender witch from a rather poor pureblood family (Legiere, based in France). When Harry Potter defeated the Dark Lord, Anthony kept in contact with his Death Eater friends, determined with the best of them to keep the memory of Voldemort alive. At the age of two and a half, Lenore put her foot down and told Anthony she wanted to raise Theodore with "better" pureblood families; ie, the ones that had not been involved with Voldemort. Perhaps the Weasleys were on the tip of her mind, having grown up in a situation not far from theirs.

Furious at her betrayal of the Dark Lord, Anthony killed Lenore in a vicious display of anger, not realizing that Theodore was hiding in the wardrobe the entire time. The death was disguised as a fall from the stairs, due to Lenore's neck being broken when Anthony threw her against the wall, and from that point on Anthony had complete charge of Theodore.

After Anothony killed Lenore he decided to raise Theodore with "firmness and discipline". Weekly meetings with his father began with lectures and most usually ended up with a thrashing. Unforgivables were used to undercurrent the severest of trangressions. Theodore accepted this as a single child, because of the blocked memory of his mother's death and the lack of other pureblood children who actually cared. Hogwarts was a blessing. After Draco's "failure" Anthony tried to force Theodore to take the Mark to prove that his son was better, haboring intense hatred for the Malfoy family. Theodore refused and was summarily (but not legally) disinherited.
History from student days at Hogwarts to the present time

Theo has always stood apart from the main crowd of the Slytherins, but he is not unsympathetic to their politics. When he was one of the few to see the thestrals in fifth year, it drew the attention of the Death Eater Youth crowd, gaining him a brief moment popularity before they discovered that he couldn't explain it. The incident has made Theo wonder, but a sick suspicion that he may have seen his mother's death prevented him from questioning even further. Theo still does not know that he witnessed his mother's death, but the suspicion rages still.

His father pulled him out of school after Dumbledore's death, intending to make him the perfect Death Eater. When Theodore put down his foot, Anthony hit him with a cutting curse and a binding hex, trapping him at Nott Manor. Theodore broke through his father's bindings, packed a satchel of his father's Darkest books and used them to buy his way into the school of defence that Hogwarts had become.

Theodore spent the remainder of the year researching rare Dark spells and potions that might have fallen into Voldemort's hands and their resulting antidotes and counter-curses. As a result, he rarely left Hogwart's library and is now very familiar with the entire restricted section. This ends up with Theodore being (once again) slightly disconnected from the others.

After the demise of Voldemort, Theo collected his father's body, buried it with very little celebration, and readied Nott Manor for sale. Part of this has been the reorganizing of the Nott library and associated works, some of which Dark books Theo has decided to donate to Hogwarts Library.
